Ashkeep

Emerging from the rust-bitten woods of northern Finland, Ashkeep is a post-metal/blackgaze band weaving crushing distortion with ghostly atmosphere. Formed in 2018, the band carves out bleak sonic landscapes where melody flickers beneath layers of noise like dying embers. Their sound drips with emotion, rage, and ruin — and they’re not here to comfort you.

Ashkeep channels grief, memory, and myth through their music, drawing comparisons to acts like Alcest, Amenra, and Cult of Luna, but always walking their own frostbitten path.

Hollow Hearth (2025)

“Ashkeep’s Hollow Hearth is a slow-burning funeral pyre of an album — beautiful, harrowing, and heavy in spirit. Equal parts melodic and abrasive, it’s a record that breathes grief through distortion. From the thunderous despair of ‘Wound of the River’ to the quiet devastation of ‘Sky Left Open’, every track feels hand-carved from ice and ash. This is post-metal at its most emotionally raw.”

The Unholy Broadcast

Wound of the River

Shot in stark black and white, the video follows a lone figure wandering through a half-frozen river at dusk, dragging broken branches behind them like a memory they can’t bury. Intercut with performance shots in an abandoned chapel lit by smoke and trembling candles, Wound of the River captures Ashkeep at their bleakest and most beautiful.
